NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.
At Blaxland East Public School, special religious education (SRE) and special education in ethics (SEE) is delivered to K-2 classes on a Friday from 11.20am to 11.55am and 3-6 classes on a Friday from 12.05pm to 12.40pm.
On enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE and SEE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE/SEE should be given to the office in writing.

Ethics classes at Blaxland East Public School
We have a new volunteer Ethics teacher starting Term 3 2019 which means we will now be able to offer Ethics to Kindergarten. This new class is in addition to our Stage 1 and Stage 2 classes run by our existing volunteer Ethics teachers.
However, as we continue to have a waitlist, especially for our Stage 3 children, it would be wonderful to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer. Ethics classes are run Friday 11:25-11:55 (K-2) and Friday 11:25-11:55 (3-6).
Ethics can be taught by parents, carers, grandparents and other family or members of the community.
If you are looking for an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our school, or know someone who may be interested, please contact the Ethics Coordinator, Kate McPherson (kateseers@gmail.com or 0414 734 883) or visit www.primaryethics.com.au for more information.
