Library

In 2011 the library was extensively refurbished, which was funded by the P&C.

The library is a popular place at lunchtimes for passive activities such as: reading books and magazines, conducting research, Internet activities, listening to audio books, drawing and writing.

Students from Years 5 and 6 can volunteer to be library monitors. Parents and community members also generously volunteer to assist in the library.

Weekly library lessons are designed to promote a love of reading, develop research skills and support the school's curriculum.

Blaxland East Public School participates in the Premier's Reading Challenge, and Book Week activities occur annually. Since 2012 the school has supported The Indigenous Literacy Foundation through a Book Swap.

The library has a large selection of books thanks to the generous support of our P&C.
