Volunteering at school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.

Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.

You can help by:

  • listening to children read in the classroom
  • volunteering on sports days
  • helping supervise excursions
  • getting involved in fundraising activities
  • joining school committees.

If you would like to volunteer at school in any capacity ie in the classroom, in the canteen or at P&C activities it is necessary for you to complete the form: Working with Children Check ‘Declaration for Volunteers and Non Child-Related Contractors’ and provide photo identification.

When visiting the school it is mandatory that you call at the front office, sign in on the iPad and wear the identification sticker that is produced when you sign in.
