Hello and welcome to Blaxland East Public School on behalf of the P&C Executive.
Congratulations on finding our treasure of a school!
Blaxland East Public School (BEPS) is unique in many ways and we hope you have an opportunity to see the excellent staff and facilities our children engage with every day. The standout for me, as a parent of the school, is our community and its culture.
Our School Principal is Kerry Bryan who is committed to engaging the P&C in decisions relating to the school’s Strategic Plan and its operational plans/policies. This transparency and involvement of the P&C in the shaping of our children's school experience is the cornerstone of the school’s sense of community.
It is comforting to know that by attending the P&C meetings you can have a genuine influence over your children’s school experience.
Whilst this unique degree of engagement and transparency between the P&C and the School's Senior Leaders may set the tone of the engaging community spirit, the sense of community doesn't stop there.
The welcoming nature of the BEPS teachers, parents and children were the standout for our decision to send our children here. Starting at a new school can be daunting, but the sense of belonging and inclusiveness at BEPS does not take long to permeate the children's and their families’ school experience.
You can expect to run into many other BEPS families in various local venues and receive a friendly and genuine greeting.
If you see a need, we encourage you to make it your own, come along and present your suggestion at the next P&C or email it to our P&C secretary for inclusion in the agenda.
Our school canteen and uniform shop is managed and run by the P&C providing a valuable service to parents and carers in our school and welcomes volunteers all year round. The uniform shop currently operates with online orders only via the canteen online ordering system.
Did you know we are the only school in the Blue Mountains with a canteen open 4 days a week? How lucky are we! Without your support this is not possible.
The Bi-Annual Fete is our signature event and people from across The Blue Mountains and Penrith areas come to enjoy it. It’s also our main fundraiser enabling the P&C to support the school in previous years with additional iPads, reading books (library and class books), monetary payment to children representing BEPS, technology support, shade sails, K-2 sandpit, working bees, school vegetable garden, outdoor classroom, Lectern for assemblies, LED school sign, large painted mural, Stage one of the Infants Playground and much, much more!
We look forward to further supporting the school with new and innovative programming and resources and of course further upgrades and additional play areas for infants and Primary.
I encourage you to participate in the P&C, a parent group that supports the work of the school staff to ensure our children have the best facilities and learning environment. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month, starting at 6.30pm in the school staff room. Information about the next P&C meeting can be found on the weekly Fridge Flyer and the P&C Facebook page.
Every year is great at Blaxland East Public School, and we would love you to spend it with us.
